The winner is the competitor who scores the highest net score. For example, if a golfer gross score is 85 with 7 pars, 9 bogies and 2 double bogies the golfers net score is computed as follows:

Gross Score 85 (7 pars x 2 = 14) + (9 bogies x 1 = 9)

Net Score is 14+9=23

Scores are tabulated per hole rather than in a comparison overall Par. In contrast to regular golf scoring, scores with positive numbers are desirable.

Q: What is System 36 handicapping?

A: The System 36 format is a modified version of a Stableford tournament. Stableford-like points are accumulated based on gross scores and the sum of the points earned are subtracted from 36 to determine a golfer's handicap.

Points are earned as follows :
Worse Than Bogey 0 points
Bogey 1 point
Par 2 points
Birdie 2 points
Eagle 2 points
Albatross 2 points

The winner is the competitor who scores the lowest net score.
For example, if a golfers gross score is 85 with 7 pars, 9 bogies and 2 double bogies the golfers net score is computed as follows :
Gross Score 85
Points 23 (7 * 2, + 9 * 1)
Handicap 13 (36 - 23)
Net Score 72 (85-13)
