FilAm GC Annual Chairman's Cup Tournament
June 25, 2011 – Blackhawk Golf Club, Plugerville, Texas
Fellow Golfers,
Congrats to all the winners at our June Tournament at Blackhawk Golf Club in Plugerville, Texas. It's been a while since we all played here and it was nice to be back on the course most of the club members belonged to.
A special thanks to our host and Tournament Director Mr. Rodel Bautista for all his hard work to make the tournament very successful.
I want to thank all the players who stayed for a short meeting. The club agreed on two important things:
• 1st— To use the Tournament Handicap Index for future stroke play tournaments.
• 2nd— Award a champion for the lowest gross score.
These rules will be a part for all FilAm GC Monthly Tournaments, unless specified by the tournament committee Chairman or club President and Chairman.

FilAm GC Monthly Stroke-Play Tournament
May 28, 2011 – Jimmy Clay Golf Course, Austin, Texas
This months tournament was dedicated to the Larioza family as a fund raiser to assist Margie and her family. It was a great turn-out with a lot of financial contributions from all the members! The weather was fantastic with exception to the 30 mph winds throughout the golf course, along with recently aerated greens that threw most all players off their putting. Although there was Scott Kempel who didn't have a problem with the Closest-to-Pin par 3 that he had a Hole-In-One!! WOW—Good Job Scott!
We'd like to thank players from the FilAm Houston Golf Club for coming out to support the tournament! Thank you guys for coming! "We'll have to come to Houston soon to participate in your monthly tournament!" The tournament champion went to Scott Kempel, 1st Runner Up went to Ray Reyes and 2nd Runner Up went to Dennis Gangoso—Congratulations gentlemen! The tournament Longest Drive went to Gary Shackleford—Nice drive Gary!
This tournament and the fund raising event wouldn't have been possible without the FilAm GC, Austin Board of Directors, Officers and Members of the club—Thank you and your families!

FilAm Team Austin Regains the Cup after 2 Years!
2011 Annual FilAm Austin vs Tyler Friendship Cup Tournament
April 16, 2011 – Star Ranch Golf Club, Hutto Texas
The day finally arrived for the annual FilAm Austin and Tyler/Dallas Friendship Cup tournament at Star Ranch Golf Club in Hutto Texas. There was 11 teams with a total of 22 players who participated in the annual Cup Tournament on Saturday, April 16th. Breakfast and lunch was provided during play.
The competition was fierce as always between the two clubs, but this year the FilAm Austin club won the coveted prize and bragging rights. True-to-Form, Tyler players commented "it was time to give the trophy back" (just kidding, that's my own comment--Max). All kidding a side, there were a few players from the Tyler/Dallas team who could not make the tournament. These missing players who played in the last two tournaments may have resulted in the team's balance to accummulate points.
We'd like to thank all the players from the FilAm Tyler/Dallas club for making the drive to Hutto. And also to our FilAm Austin club President Edwin Timillar for hosting the Pre-Dinner festivities on Friday prior to tournament day. As always, team Austin could not refrain from having to much fun and some of our players wanted to sleep in, as well some wanted to delay the tournament. But, team Austin showed up on time with their game faces on and was ready to compete! A special thank you goes out to Rodel Bautista for arranging the tournament at Star Ranch and also Captains Cesar Reys and Noli Aurea for keeping team Austin informed throughout play and all the pictures!
FilAm GC 2-Person Scramble Tournament
March 26, 2011 – Spicewood Golf Club, Austin Texas
It was a beautiful day for golf at Balcones Spicewood Golf Club. The weather was perfect for club members and their guest to complete against one another as teams. The competition was fierce amongst the members to prepare for the upcoming 2011 Annual Austin Tyler Friendship Cup Tournament to be held in April at Star Ranch Golf Course, Hutto Texas. Players and team pairings were competing to make the cut to play in the upcoming Friendship Cup tournament.
The 1st Place team winners were Cesar Derilo and Justin Scribner, 2nd Place went to Clarence Richardson and Ben Valdeleon, 3rd Place went to Bookie Oandasan and Joe Buscaino. Congratulation gentlemen! For additional pictures click here.
FilAm GC Stroke Play Tournament
February 26, 2011 – Riverside Golf Course, Austin Texas
The monthly FilAm GC tournament was held at the renowned Riverside Golf Course in Austin, Texas. Our members showed up in competition mode, ready to deliver their best scores ever. This months tournament included "skin holes" which Justin Scribner happily "took-n-ran"— Good Job, Justin!
First place went to our "kanaka" member Warren Kamealoha, 2nd place went to Rene "Nonoy" Lagtapon and 3rd place went to Charles "lucky-putter" Velasco. The Longest Drive winner went to "Boomer" Ron Waller and the Closest-to-Pin was Cesar Derillo—Congratulation men for a good job!!

First of all I want to thank everyone who participated in our 2nd stroke play tournament of 2011; our members, Temple chapter, The Temple Kings, and Guests. Your tournament participation and support contributes greatly to the success of FilAm GC, Austin!
I'd like to thank our tournament committee Rodel Bautisa, Roger Ibarra and Noli Aurea— you continuely do a FANTASTIC JOB!
Our club Officers, Board Members, and Tournament Committee continuely strives to provide our members a great tournament venue and interesting play formats. I would like our members to submit any suggestions to improve our tournaments and we'll discuss them in our meetings.
I'm looking forward to see you all again on March 26th, Saturday for our 3rd tournament! Our tournaments are scheduled every last Saturday of the month unless we really need to change the date due to unexpected circumstances.
