FilAm GC May Stroke Play Tournament
It was a great day to play golf, early tee time and a majority of our members participated. It was great catching up with members whom we haven't seen in a while, sharing stories and plans for the summer.
As usual, players competed with great enthusiasm to covet "bragging rights" and to move up the leaderboard. Ray Reyes didn't disappoint the fans by coveting his favorite shot-making "Closest-to-the Pin" award! Additionally, Jhay Adones, "the Chairman" hit the Longest Drive disappointing club member Edwin "the Rope" Timilar.
Club member Edgar "Onyok" Denila captured 1st place, Roger Ibarra edged out member Cesar Reyes by 1 stroke to capture 2nd Place and Ray Reyes respectively captured 3rd place. Congratulations gentlement!!

April
17th, Tyler Vs Austin Friendship Cup
Oak Hurst Golf Course, Bullard, Texas
Congratulations
to the FilAm Golf Association of Tyler, Texas for defending
the 2nd Annual Tyler-Austin Friendship Cup tournament
on Saturday, April 17th 2010.
The FilAm Golfers
Club of Austin visited the Tyler club to compete in
its annual Friendship Cup tournament hosted by the
FilAm Golf Association at the Oak Hurst golf course
in Bullard, Texas just outside of the city of Tyler.
We would like to thank everyone from the Tyler club
for hosting a fantastic and delicious dinner the evening
before tournament day! The seafood soup was the "bomb"
as my son would say for something out-of-this-world
in a VERY GOOD WAY!.

Congratulations to all
the players and guests that participated in the clubs monthly
Stroke-Play Tournament. It was a gorgeous day for golf—and
friends competing for "bragging rights" and a friendly
but competitive skins game between members. It was great
to see everyone and welcome our new member Gerry Cobbs!
The tournament was held
in the community of Sun City in Georgetown, Texas at Legacy
Hills golf course. The community of Sun City has three golf
courses; White Wing, Cowan Creek and Legacy Hills. Legacy
Hills is the older course of the three and the most challenging
to all our players.
The tournament committee,
Gerry Miranda with Scott Sharpe, Warren Kamealoha and Clarence
Richardson did a great job in acquiring and negotiating rates
for our tournament. Initially, the tournament was to be held
at Cowan Creek, but at the last minute (3 days before the
tournament) Warren Kamealoha received a call from the Cowan
Creek golf administrator to say they could not accommodate
our tournament!
Warren, with his "salesman
acumen and calm demeanor", was able to negotiate with
the administrator to schedule our club tournament at the
neighboring course, Legacy Hills the day of our tournament.
Along with a complimentary Free-Round golf voucher for every
player to play Cowan Creek golf course AND offer FilAm GC
discounted tournament rates if we choose to schedule a future
tournament at their golf course! GOOD JOB GUYS!! Stay tuned
for additional photos posted to our Photo Gallery!
A reminder to all club
members to signup for our annual Multi Club Tournament with
Tyler/Dallas FilAm Golf association on April xx in Tyler

| The
First Annual Christmas party was held at the Tabernacle Center at
Old Settlers Park, Round Rock. It was an incredible treat for all
the members, guests and their familiers, with plenty of traditional
Filipino food and dessearts! We were treated to a fantastic entertainment
program setup by fellow member Mr. Rommel Bayola and his helpers.
The entertainment included a childrens choir, karaoke-dance performance
by the member's wives, a choir number by the gentlemen, sola singing
performances by Erika Timillar and Mr. Cesar Reyes and a solo saxophone
performance by Mr. Reyes' son. Click
